Jocelyn Bioh is a Ghanaian-American playwright known for witty, sharp observations on identity, beauty, and friendship. Her breakout work, School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play, blends comedy and drama to dissect colorism and teenage culture with warmth and satire. The play premiered Off-Broadway at MCC Theater (2017–2018) and has since inspired hundreds of regional productions, including a UK premiere at the Lyric Hammersmith in London (June 8–July 22, 2023) that was extended due to demand.
