Biography and works with SCKBSTD center on the collaboration between celebrated musician Bruce Hornsby and playwrights, delivering original songs and a compelling narrative. The world premiere occurred January 21–February 6, 2011 at Wells Theatre in Norfolk, produced by Virginia Stage Company, and the project includes 19 original songs. The show’s history includes NYC readings in 2010 and 2012 (the 2012 York readings helped retitle the show to Stranger). Notably, the 2011 Norfolk season became Virginia Stage Company’s highest-grossing production, underscoring strong audience interest.
