People behind the production
Scott Simon was born on December 9, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri. A cornerstone of the retro-rock scene, he joined Sha Na Na in April 1970, bringing piano-driven vocals and a distinctive, expressive style that helped shape the band's sound through the 1970s into the 1990s. Beyond his work with Sha Na Na, Simon co-wrote the memorable track “Sandy” for the 1978 Grease soundtrack, a collaboration that remains a notable highlight of Broadway-era pop culture. He also released the solo album Transmissions from Space in 1981 on Rollin' Rock Records, showcasing his versatile musicianship. Whether performing with Sha Na Na or spinning new interpretations in solo shows, Simon's live presence has always been about solid musicianship and crowd-pleasing energy.
