The Seattle International Comedy Competition is a cornerstone of the Pacific Northwest comedy scene. Founded in 1980, this month-long, judged stand-up competition brings together emerging and established comedians across Seattle and Western Washington. With a format that curates a broad field — 32 contestants in two preliminary weeks, top 10 advancing to semifinals, and the top 5 moving to finals — the event culminates in a series of shows that determine a single champion each year.
