SF Sketchfest is the Bay Area’s beloved, long-running celebration of comedy in all its forms. Founded by David Owen, Cole Stratton, and Janet Varney, the festival launched in 2001 and debuted January 2002 at the Shelton Theatre in San Francisco. Today, SF Sketchfest brings a multi-genre mix of sketch, improv, stand-up, film/TV tributes, live podcasts, and music to audiences across a dozen venues in San Francisco.

In 2025, the festival runs from January 16 to February 2, spanning roughly two weeks with performances at venues such as Cobb’s Comedy Club, Great American Music Hall, Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, Sydney Goldstein Theater, Punch Line, Lost Church, Marines’ Memorial Theatre, Eclectic Box, and BATS Bayfront, among others. Headliners for 2025 include Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers, Tim Curry with Peaches Christ, Kathryn Hahn, JB Smoove, and Richard Kind.
