Shunske Sato is a prominent violinist and conductor renowned for his commitment to historically informed performance. Based in Europe and globally active, he directs and soloes with period ensembles and symphonic orchestras around the world. Since 2013, he has been a faculty member at the Amsterdam Conservatory, shaping the next generation of baroque and classical performance practice. From 2013 to 2023, Sato served as artistic leader and concertmaster of the Netherlands Bach Society, a role that underscored his dedication to J.S. Bach and the broader baroque repertoire. A frequent collaborator with Concerto Köln since 2011, Sato remains a central figure in the authentic performance movement.
