The documented stage experience
Someone Who'll Watch Over Me is a gripping dramatic hostage drama by Frank McGuinness, known for its darkly comic voice and intense character study. The play centers on three men of different backgrounds—a American, an Irishman, and an Englishman—held in a windowless Beirut cell, exploring themes of fear, hope, friendship, and resilience. Since its premiere at Hampstead Theatre in London (1992) and its Broadway run at the Booth Theatre (1992–1993, 232 performances), the work has earned critical acclaim and continues to be revived around the world.
