Leadership has evolved in recent years, with former director Karen Breidert retiring in December 2024 and Deanna 'DeeDee' Kastler stepping back as director. Gina Baker was named co-director beginning in 2025, bringing fresh energy and continuity to rehearsals and performances. Rehearsals continue most Tuesdays from 7–10 pm at the Church of the Cross Community Center (13500 Freshman Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33912), where the group rehearses, collaborates, and prepares its repertoire for upcoming shows.

Spirit of the Gulf Chorus is known for its competitive track within Sweet Adelines International. Since 2002, they have earned multiple Florida State SAI Chorus champion medals and have achieved eight top-ten finishes at Sweet Adelines International competitions, including an 8th-place finish at the 2024 International Competition. Audiences consistently recognize the chorus as the 'Most Entertaining Chorus'—a rare honor the group has earned three times, underscoring their ability to blend technical prowess with engaging performance.
