OpenAir St.Gallen, originally founded in 1977 as Open Air Festival Abtwil, is one of Switzerland’s premier multi-genre open-air experiences. Relocated to Sittertobel in 1981 and rebranded to OpenAir St.Gallen, this festival town favorite attracts over 110,000 attendees each year. Guided by a sustainability-focused approach, it features two stages, a diverse lineup across rock, pop, hip-hop, and electronic sounds, and four days of music in the scenic Swiss city region near St. Gallen. The festival’s founder, Freddy Geiger (Gagi), helped shape its enduring community vibe and forward-thinking ethos.
