Stacey Earle is a singer-songwriter and musician whose roots run deep in the American folk and country scene. Born September 25, 1960, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, she was raised in San Antonio, Texas, and later made her mark from Nashville, Tennessee. She began her career as a backing vocalist and rhythm guitarist for her brother-in-name Steve Earle in the early 1990s, contributing to The Hard Way and accompanying his tours. Over the years, Stacey wrote songs that found life with other artists, such as For Years for Sammy Kershaw and the track Politics, Religion and Her (1996). Her work is largely anchored in Gearle Records, including solo projects and collaborations with Mark Stuart through Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart. Her diverse discography blends intimate storytelling with spirited roots rock and country textures.
