Stray Cats burst onto the music scene in 1979 on Long Island, New York, formed by Brian Setzer, Lee Rocker, and Slim Jim Phantom. Known for reviving classic rockabilly with high-energy performances and sharp style, they carved a lasting niche in rock history. Over four decades, they’ve released nine studio albums, with their latest, 40, arriving in 2019 through Surfdog Records. The band’s signature hits—Stray Cat Strut, Rock This Town, and (She’s) Sexy + 17—earned recognition across the US and UK, cementing their status as bona fide rockabilly legends. Stray Cats was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2006, celebrating their enduring influence on the regional and national music landscape.
