Stud Country is a vibrant, inclusive dance collective rooted in queer line dancing and two-stepping, founded in Los Angeles in 2021 by Bailey Salisbury and Sean Monaghan. What started as a community at Oil Can Harry’s grew into a broader movement that moved through Club Bahia and beyond, expanding from LA to New York and San Francisco. Their approach blends traditional line dances with modern party tracks, featuring inclusive pairing for same-sex and nonbinary dancers in the two-step portions. The project has earned widespread media attention for its cross-city reach and welcoming culture.
