Sunless Sky’s debut album Firebreather arrived on August 8, 2014, under Pure Steel Records and drew praise for its traditional US heavy/power metal aesthetics. The follow-up, Doppelgänger (April 7, 2017), features Juan Ricardo on vocals and Curran Murphy on guitar, highlighted by a video for the title track. The band's latest full-length, Prelude to Madness, released in mid-2022, continues the Pure Steel collaboration and has earned favorable coverage in metal press. In 2025, Sunless Sky performed at Wells Township MetalFest in Brilliant, Ohio as part of the Lights Out Tour.
