Swear Tapes is the brainchild of Jim Barrett, formerly of Young Buffalo. Emerging in the mid-2010s, the project quickly established a distinct indie rock voice marked by jangly guitars and garage-pop sensibilities. Early tracks were laid down in Mississippi and Brooklyn, imprinting a raw, catchy edge that fans of lo-fi indie gravitate toward. Today, Swear Tapes continues to release music that blends melodic hooks with sun-bleached, garage-tinged energy, earning attention from local press and indie listeners alike.
