Texas Tech College Rodeo represents a storied tradition in collegiate rodeo dating back to 1923. As a member of the NIRA Southwest Region, the TTU Rodeo Team competes across the Southwest, showcasing skilled bronc and barrel racing, roping, and team events. Home base and competition facilities live at the Texas Tech Equestrian Center in Lubbock, TX, where the team trains, hosts events, and coordinates rodeo operations.

The team has grown alongside the NIRA (National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association), formed in 1949, and has produced multiple champions across disciplines. The TTU Rodeo Team competes in the NIRA Southwest Region, representing Texas Tech with grit, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence. In recent years, the team has celebrated significant victories and continued development under various coaching leadership, including notable changes around 2024 that impacted program direction and coaching dynamics.
