The Texas Young Composers Concert is a long-running Austin program that nurtures young talent through hands-on composition and performance. Run by Golden Hornet, this six-month initiative invites Austin-area youth ages 8–18 to compose original works for a five-piece ensemble. The culmination is a public concert performed by professional musicians and recorded for archival and outreach purposes. The program enjoys ongoing support from donors and foundations, including Harvey and Kathleen Guion, and receives funding from the Texas Commission on the Arts.
