The Bob Curry Fellowship is a pioneering comedy program named after Bob Curry, the first African American performer to join The Second City’s resident company. Since its launch in 2014, this 15-week, tuition-free master program has empowered actors and improvisers of color to develop their craft, voice, and stage presence. Operated across The Second City’s campuses in Chicago, New York, and Toronto, the fellowship focuses on creating diverse, dynamic voices in the world of comedy. Over its decade-long history, more than half of its graduates have gone on to work with The Second City divisions or related companies, underscoring its impact on the comedy ecosystem.
