The Dismemberment Plan formed in Washington, D.C. in 1993, laying the groundwork for a distinctive brand of indie rock with a post-hardcore edge. With original members Travis Morrison, Eric Axelson, Jason Caddell, and Joe Easley, the band built a reputation for tight performances, clever lyrics, and energetic live shows. Over the years they’ve released five studio albums and earned a dedicated following in the indie and emo scenes.

Discography highlights include the breakthrough albums ! (1995), The Dismemberment Plan Is Terrified (1997), and the widely celebrated Emergency & I (1999). Emergency & I is widely regarded as a landmark in indie rock, earning Pitchfork’s top album of 1999 and appearing on numerous year-end lists; Rolling Stone called it a game-changer for the genre. After a hiatus, they returned with Uncanney Valley (2013), which peaked at #8 on the US Heatseekers Albums chart, spawning singles like Waiting, Invisible, and Daddy Was a Real Good Dancer.
