The Great Heights Band began in 2014 in Baltimore, MD with a DIY ethos rooted in Buzzlounge Recording (Eric Taft’s studio). From those scrappy beginnings, they’ve built a distinctive rad-pop and indie-rock sound that has earned them critical notice and a dedicated fan base. Their journey blends catchy hooks with thoughtful lyrics, all delivered with an unmistakable DIY spirit that keeps their live shows intimate and high-energy.

Early on they captured attention with their debut full-length, Songs in Eastern Standard Timing, released October 23, 2015 on CI Records. They quickly earned a spotlight win as the Milwaukee Summerfest Emerging Artist in 2015, a signpost for rising indie artists on the festival circuit. Their sophomore LP, rad-pop. released April 20, 2018 on rad-pop. records, cemented their place in the 90s-inspired, indie-influenced landscape while sharpening their live dynamic.

In 2020, they released the EP Cabin Fever, featuring the breakout track Clutter and the protest single Bully With a Bat. The band kept momentum with 2023 singles Kickstart the Feeling and Above the Water, ahead of the 2024 album cycle. 2024 saw the release of Bummer in the Summer on June 14, self-released on Bandcamp with vinyl editions, followed by additional releases like Big Waves (2024) and an acoustic set No Rain No Flowers (Acoustic) (2025).
