The Great Northern Union Chorus (GNU) is an all-gender barbershop chorus proudly based in Hilltop, Minnesota. Since its founding in 1986, GNU has welcomed singers from diverse backgrounds and, starting in 2020, opened its doors to all-gender membership. Known for tight harmonies and dynamic performances, GNU consistently ranks among the top contenders at Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) International Chorus Contests, earning silver medals in 2011 and 2012 alongside a string of frequent top-five finishes.
