The Kotzschmar Organ Tickets

The Kotzschmar Organ is one of America’s most storied concert organs, housed in Merrill Auditorium in downtown Portland, Maine. Built in 1912 by the Austin Organ Company as Opus 323, this grand instrument features five manuals, 7,101 pipes, and 69 ranks. Gifted to the City of Portland by Cyrus H. K. Curtis in memory of Hermann Kotzschmar, the organ was dedicated on August 22, 1912. Today, it’s lovingly maintained and promoted by the Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ (FOKO), a nonprofit founded in 1981 to safeguard its legacy and present engaging concerts, tours, and educational programs. Portland Municipal Organist James Kennerley has been at the helm since 2017, curating performances and nurturing the organ’s enduring connection to the community.
