With deep roots in West African drumming, griot storytelling, dance, and visual arts, TMOAR creates immersive experiences that bring Ngoma rhythms to life for audiences of all ages. Teli Shabu serves as director and key storyteller, drawing on a lineage that connects to the Ngoma tradition and the broader African diaspora. Based in North Carolina, TMOAR offers a range of programs from interactive engagement with audiences to multi-day residencies, featured performances, and educational workshops.
