The National Theatre of Iceland (NTI) is a cornerstone of Icelandic performing arts, rooted in Reykjavik’s cultural landscape since opening on April 20, 1950. Located at Hverfisgata 19, NTI combines a rich tradition with contemporary programming, offering multiple performance spaces to welcome audiences of all ages. Under the artistic direction of Magnús Geir Þórðarson since 2020, the company continues to expand its reach—season 2025–2026 features ambitious productions like Íbúð 10B, Ormstunga, and Gæðablóð with captioning to improve accessibility for everyone.
