The School of Dance Tickets

The School of Dance is a cornerstone of Ottawa’s dance community, blending professional performance with accessible education. Since its founding in 1978 by Merrilee Hodgins and Joyce Shietze, with Celia Franca joining in 1979 as Co-Artistic Director, the company has grown into a respected private career college in Ontario dedicated to promoting education in the art of dance. The organization offers robust arts education programmes, including DanceONTour, DragonFly, Boys Only!, Dances By Youth for Youth, and Artists in Residence, shaping the next generation of dancers and enthusiasts.

With a season that typically features around 45 public performances, The School of Dance graces stages across Canada's cultural landscape—from the Canadian Museum of History to the National Arts Centre, National Gallery of Canada, Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre, and Arts Court Theatre.
