They sing their conversational songs in 4 part harmony, often with a banjo stomp and rhythm section punch that drives the audience onto the dance floor and into community. Their music creates community through the shared experience of joy and giving a shit. Their trusty van has propelled them thousands of miles across the country and into the hearts of strangers, who tend to leave each show as family. The name Them Coulee Boys originated from a counselor at a bible camp in northern Wisconsin in 2011. The band added Soren’s brother Jens on mandolin in 2013. Their 5th studio album, No Fun In The Chrysalis, was recorded at The Hive in Eau Claire, WI. No Fun In The Chrysalis was produced, engineered, and mixed by Grammy-winner Brian Joseph. The first single from No Fun In The Chrysalis is I Am Not Sad. The music video for I Am Not Sad was shot and directed by Knorth Studios in Eau Claire, WI. Each pre-order of No Fun In The Chrysalis immediately receives TCB Demos, a collection of old recordings of the first single, I Am Not Sad, and other classic Coulee songs.
