The musical character
Tommy Caldwell (November 9, 1949 – April 28, 1980) was a foundational figure in Southern rock through his work as the bassist, percussionist, guitarist, and backing vocalist for The Marshall Tucker Band (MTB) from 1973 until his passing in 1980. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Caldwell helped shape the sound of MTB during their formative years and contributed to the band’s characteristic blend of rock, country, and blues influences.
