True Believers emerged from Austin, Texas in 1982, founded by brothers Alejandro and Javier Escovedo. Known for a hard-edged rock sound with a country-tinged, three-guitar attack, they became a cornerstone of the 1980s New Sincerity/Austin scene. Over the years, they left a lasting imprint on the city’s music map with high-energy performances and a distinctive, unreleased-charged spirit that resonated with fans of rock and roots music alike.
