Biography: Turiya Electric emerges from a NYC creative scene renowned for pushing genre boundaries. Drawing from an expansive palette—jazz harmony, afrofunk syncopation, blues grit, soulful melodies, flamenco flair, and Afro-rooted rhythms—the project crafts a sound that’s intimate yet expansive. The music invites both reflection and energy, weaving complex rhythms with accessible hooks.

Discography Highlights: The debut album, Turiya Electric, was released on August 27, 2021 via Xicofire Music. The record spans seven tracks and runs roughly 47 minutes, establishing the band’s signature blend of groove and atmosphere. In 2023, the project released the singles Nocturne Eyes (featuring Atiyya Abdur-Rahman) on January 7 and Afro Blue (featuring Atiyya Abdur-Rahman) in May/June, continuing the exploration of nocturnal moods and rhythm-forward storytelling.
