Twin Cities Trumpet Ensemble Tickets

The Twin Cities Trumpet Ensemble (TCTE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in Minnesota’s rich musical tradition. Founded in 2014, TCTE operates with a core ensemble of 24 trumpeters, empowered by a larger roster for performances and a dedicated jazz group. Under the leadership of director James Olcott—an esteemed trumpet educator honored with the International Trumpet Guild Award of Merit in 2005—TCTE blends orchestral breadth with brass sensibilities to reach audiences across the region.

Educational outreach is central to TCTE’s mission. The ensemble runs clinics, master classes, and school programs, helping young musicians develop technique, artistry, and a love for brass performance. Their programs have graced major events such as the Minnesota Music Educators Conference (MMEC) in 2018 and 2023, and the Vintage Band Festival (VBF) in 2021 and 2022. The group’s first full-length CD, Soundings, released in fall 2021, features repertoire that highlights contemporary and traditional works, including pieces by Brian Balmages.
