The essentials
The UBC Collegiate Baseball Classic represents Vancouver’s long-standing passion for baseball mixed with international competition. The inaugural edition, known as the International Collegiate Baseball Classic, took place August 13–18, 2019, featuring UBC, Keio University, the University of Tokyo, and Sacramento State. Games were played primarily at Tourmaline West Stadium with a premiere game at Nat Bailey Stadium, showcasing a four-team round-robin format followed by semifinals and a championship. This event established a tradition of high-level collegiate baseball in Vancouver and set the stage for future NCAA/NAIA-style play within the region.
The UBC Thunderbirds baseball program continues to host and participate in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) events at Tourmaline West Stadium. The 2025 season featured a five-team double-elimination CCC Championship hosted at Tourmaline West Stadium, with UBC as the host.
