Vincent Gardner is a prominent figure in modern jazz, known for his robust trombone sound and bebop-hard bop sensibilities. Born October 31, 1972, in Chicago, Gardner studied at Florida A&M University and the University of North Florida before joining the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) in 2000 as lead trombonist. His career spans world tours, commissions, and leadership of innovative jazz projects that celebrate the genre’s swing-rooted vocabulary while pushing it forward.
