Wayne Troups is a cornerstone of Louisiana’s vibrant roots music landscape. A Grammy Award winner for Best Regional Roots Music Album as part of The Band Courtbouillon at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards (2013), he helped pioneer the fusion genre known as Zydecajun, blending Cajun and Zydeco influences into a sound that’s unmistakably Louisiana. Recognized as a Louisiana music icon, Troups has been inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, Gulf Coast Hall of Fame, and Cajun French Music Association Hall of Fame. His 1989 release Blast from the Bayou made history as the first Cajun act to crack the Top Pop Albums chart. His latest release, Live at the 2025 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (MunckMix), arrived July 9, 2025.
