WDVE is Pittsburgh’s enduring home for classic rock, delivering iconic tunes, a robust on-air heritage, and a strong connection to the city’s sports scene through Steelers Nation Radio. As part of iHeartMedia’s Pittsburgh cluster and the Steelers Audio Network, WDVE blends rock history with modern programming for a loyal listener base. From its origins as KQV-FM in 1962 to rebranding as WDVE in 1970, the station helped pioneer the AOR format in 1971 and celebrated a 50-year milestone in 2019. In 2021, WDVE’s studios moved from Green Tree to Bridgeville, reflecting the station’s ongoing evolution. The Parkway West WDVE sign removal in 2025 marks a shift, but the station remains a local staple with live events and community engagement.
