What? is a horn-led funk and jazz fusion sextet formed in 2016 in New Paltz, New York. Founded by Ryan Perrone and Dan Steen, the band blends improvisational jams with tight horn arrangements, drawing influence from Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Vulfpeck, Phish, and Snarky Puppy. The current lineup features Perrone, Steen, Jared Nelson, Jeremiah Mahoney, Alex Endres, and Owen Moore. What? released their debut album Lavender Lounge in 2022 via Bebaduway Enterprises and have since performed at notable East Coast venues, including The Falcon in Marlboro, NY. The band continues to build a dedicated following through engaging live performances and collaborative shows.
