History
Wishy is an American indie rock/shoegaze band from Indianapolis, Indiana, formed in 2021 by singer-songwriters and guitarists Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites. Wishy initially considered the name Mercury but changed it due to the existence of another artist with that name on Spotify. Wishy's Paradise EP, released in 2023, features callbacks to the band’s Midwest emo roots and pays homage to bands like Pale Saints and Jimmy Eat World. Wishy's debut album Triple Seven was released on August 16, 2024, and is described as a standout voice in the new generation of shoegaze. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
Sound
Wishy's debut album Triple Seven features memorable hooks and blistering guitars that draw on Midwest emo and 2000s pop. Wishy's Nature's Pill album is described as power pop shoegaze with fantastic E6 influence. Wishy's song 'Lovesick' was shared as part of their announcement for a new album and fall tour. [6] [7] [1]
