Woolf Works Tickets

Woolf Works is the brainchild of choreographer Wayne McGregor, whose dynamic, contemporary approach pushed The Royal Ballet into new expressive territory. The production pairs McGregor’s kinetic vocabulary with Max Richter’s evocative score, weaving Virginia Woolf’s literary world into a visual and sonic tapestry. The work’s title nods to the author’s influence and its shifting, dreamlike structure mirrors Woolf’s own explorations of time, memory, and identity. The premiere in May 2015 at the Royal Opera House, London, introduced sections titled I now, I then; Becomings; and Tuesday, each offering distinct atmospheres and choreographic ideas.

Woolf Works has since traveled beyond the U.K., earning acclaim and expanding its audience through international collaborations and residencies. The production’s impact is reflected in its awards and in continued performances by major companies, including North American venues, with plans for future tours and engagements.

North American debut and continued touring have broadened Woolf Works’ reach. Notably, American Ballet Theatre (ABT) presented Woolf Works at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa in April 2024. The 2025 ABT Summer Season at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York includes five Woolf Works performances starting June 17, 2025.
