Formed in Zurich in 1989 and later based in Australia since 1995, Xenos has been a fixture on European and Australian stages for decades. The project blends traditional Balkan rhythms with a flexible lineup featuring gaida, zurna, sax and brass, delivering high-energy Balkan Roma dance music that moves crowds. Their sound is rooted in a rich cultural mix, honoring Roma and Balkan traditions while embracing contemporary performance dynamics.

Led by a rotating collective of musicians, Xenos creates vivid, dance-friendly grooves that have earned critical recognition, including an ARIA Award nomination for Best World Music Album for Tutti Frutti in 2001. Their catalog includes studio albums spanning 1991 through 2008 and the compilation Fire In The Feet (2001), capturing the spicy energy of their live performances.
