Yasmine Hamdan is a pivotal figure in the Arab indie and electronic music scenes. Co-founder of the Beirut duo Soapkills in the late 1990s, she helped shape a generation of artists blending Arabic vocals with electronic textures. Her collaboration with Mirwais led to the Y.A.S. project album Arabology (2009), before she launched a storied solo career that has earned international acclaim and critical praise.
