Yeni Turku, originating from Ankara in 1978, is a landmark in Turkish folk fusion. Led by Derya Köroğlu, the group has grown through a rotating lineup that preserves the core spirit: blending traditional Turkish makam and ensemble textures with Western instruments like the oud, bağlama, kemençe, kanun, and guitar. The project remains a vital voice in Turkish music, translating timeless melodies into contemporary forms.
