Hailing from Oxford, Mississippi, Young Buffalo blends indie rock with Afrobeat textures to craft tunes that feel both intimate and expansive. Formed in 2009 by Jim Barrett and Ben Yarbrough, the duo quickly drew attention for their distinctive sound and bold early releases. A nod from NPR and recognition as a Guardian New Band of the Day helped establish their national footprint long before their first full-length album.
