About Aeronautical Training Center

The Aeronautical Training Center (ATC) is a key part of Trident Technical College, located on the Thornley Campus in North Charleston. Opened around 2019–2020, ATC supports aviation training with modern labs, classrooms, and two main event spaces designed for conferences, trainings, and industry partnerships. While primarily an educational facility, ATC also hosts ribbon ceremonies, industry trainings, and collaborative events in a professional environment conducive to networking and learning.

Venue highlights include the Aviation Room and Skyview Room for meetings and gatherings, plus the College Center at Thornley Campus for larger conferences and banquets. Whether you’re coordinating a training session, a formal luncheon, or a corporate event, we’ll help you secure suitable accommodations and plan your visit with practical details you can rely on.

Location, access, and nearby lodging and dining options are convenient for attendees traveling from across the region. ATC sits on Rivers Avenue with easy access to Charleston area transit and local hotels, making it a practical choice for educational events, industry partner gatherings, and professional development sessions.

Seating and event spaces: The Aviation Room (5,800 sq ft) and Skyview Room (5,000 sq ft) provide flexible layouts for seminars, trainings, and small to medium group events. For larger gatherings, the College Center at Thornley Campus offers approximately 15,000 sq ft of space suitable for conferences and banquets. An Executive Boardroom seats up to 20 and is ideal for private meetings. Although ATC is an educational facility first, its meeting spaces are designed to support professional events with reliable AV capabilities and room setups to fit your needs.

Parking and transportation: Free campus parking is available for visitors and attendees. ATC is located on the Thornley Campus and supported by the Charleston area transit network (CARTA). If you’re driving in, you’ll find straightforward access from major routes along Rivers Avenue. For those using public transit or rideshare, nearby stops and routes connect to the campus for convenient access.

Nearby hotels and restaurants: Multiple hotels line Rivers Avenue and the broader airport corridor within a short drive, offering convenient lodging for attendees. We highlight affiliate partner recommendations for trusted dining and lodging options to streamline your planning. If you’d like, we can tailor hotel and restaurant options to your budget and schedule, ensuring you have reliable, nearby choices for your event needs.

Notable context: The venue has hosted the Boeing ReadySC training along with various industry partnerships, underscoring its role in aviation workforce development. With active operations since 2019/2020, the ATC campus remains a robust hub for aviation education and professional events in the Charleston area.
