About Ashkenaz

Ashkenaz is a nonprofit world music and dance community center in the heart of Berkeley. With a welcoming in-house cafe, a main room that seats up to 218 and can host standing events for up to around 450, Ashkenaz brings diverse performances—from Bachata nights to family-friendly world music showcases. Seating is first-come, first-served for most events, so arrive early to secure your preferred spot. The facade renovation completed in 2022 has preserved Ashkenaz’s character while refreshing the space for new performances.
