About Austin Central Library

Welcome to the Austin Central Library, a modern public library in the Seaholm district that also serves as a versatile event venue. Since opening in October 2017, the library has hosted author talks, community gatherings, and festival programming in spaces designed to accommodate a variety of setups. Whether you’re planning a theater-style lecture, a banquet reception, a classroom-style workshop, or an outdoor gathering, we’ve got you covered with flexible spaces and easy access to downtown Austin.

We’ll help you secure the right space for your event, confirm capacity based on your chosen setup, and navigate parking, transit, and nearby lodging and dining options. Think of us as your friendly connection in the business—reliable, straightforward, and here to simplify the process.

The library offers several rentable spaces, including the Special Event Center, Demonstration Area, Art Gallery, Roof Garden, Outdoor Amphitheater, and Reading Room, each with different capacities and configurations. A 3-D walkthrough is available for the Special Event Center to help you plan sightlines and seating.
