About Canon Theatre - CA
Welcome to Canon Theatre - CA, a storied Toronto venue with deep roots in the city’s performing arts scene. Opened in 1920 as the Pantages Theatre, this historic space has evolved through its names—Imperial, Imperial Six, Canon Theatre, Ed Mirvish Theatre, and now the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre. With approximately 2,300 seats across two levels, the configuration can be adjusted to 2,300, 1,800, or 1,200 seats depending on the production. Located at 244 Victoria Street with a secondary entrance at 263 Yonge Street in the Yonge-Dundas area, the theatre is a cornerstone of Toronto’s theatre district.
Whether you’re catching a long-running production or a touring show, we’ve got you covered. We’ll help you secure your seats, navigate parking and transit, and find comfortable nearby hotels and convenient dining options so your night out is as easy as possible.
Parking near the Canon Theatre includes several Green P and private lots, with the Green P lot under Dundas Square (entrance at Dundas & Victoria) and nearby Eaton Centre parking. Other options include lots at 237 Victoria Street and street or surface lots in the surrounding blocks. The venue is well-served by the TTC and GO transit: the closest Dundas West subway stop (Yonge line) provides easy access, and Union Station GO connections are convenient for travelers arriving from elsewhere in the Greater Toronto Area. For a comfortable stay, consider nearby hotels like Pantages Hotel Toronto Centre (adjacent at 200 Victoria Street), Bond Place Hotel (65 Dundas St East), and Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre (525 Bay Street).
