About Clark Planetarium

Clark Planetarium sits at The Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City, offering immersive planetarium shows, laser presentations, and science exhibits. With the Hansen Dome Theatre seating 178 and the Northrop Grumman IMAX Theatre seating 288, there’s a variety of experiences for science fans, families, and curious minds. The facility expanded in 2015–2016 and again in 2023–2024, and it remains a cornerstone of hands-on learning and space exploration in Utah.

Exhibit spaces on the First Floor (80) and Third Floor (200) host rotating exhibits and family-friendly activities. For events, the full building accommodates up to 1,000 attendees, ideal for school groups, corporate gatherings, or celebrations.

Parking: Underground parking is available in The Gateway South Garage with entrances on Level 0 and Level -1. Access is from 100 S between 400 W and Rio Grande St. Parking validations are available, making a trip to Clark Planetarium convenient for visitors driving in from across the region.

Transit: The UTA Planetarium Stop is directly east of the front door. Gateway access connects to TRAX and FrontRunner, and multiple bus routes serve the area, providing easy, low-stress options for getting to and from the venue.
