About Detroit Lakes Pavilion
The Detroit Lakes Pavilion is a historic waterfront staple in City Park, dating back to 1915. Located on the shore of Little Detroit Lake, this beloved venue has hosted dances, weddings, concerts, and community events for generations. While a new, larger year-round facility is planned to replace the Pavilion, the current site remains a meaningful place for gatherings, celebrations, and seasonal rentals ( typically May–October ). The Pavilion’s original design supports around 400–500 guests, with current rental configurations accommodating about 425 seated guests. As the City Park project advances, parking and access are being redesigned to better serve visitors and event attendees.
Whether you’re planning a wedding reception, a community celebration, or a concert, we’ve got you covered with practical details, nearby lodging, and reliable transit options to help you secure your plans with ease.
For guests and organizers, nearby hotels offer convenient stays before or after events. The Fairfield Inn & Suites Detroit Lakes and Quality Inn & Suites Detroit Lakes provide comfortable options within a short drive of the Pavilion. After a day by the lake, explore local dining and services in Detroit Lakes to complete your visit. Transit access includes Amtrak service at the Detroit Lakes station (116 Pioneer St) and Becker County Transit (dial-a-ride) for local travel. The City Park improvements will relocate and optimize parking to support ongoing events and future facilities.
