Welcome to the George Gervin GameAbove Center, EMU’s premier on-campus venue on West Campus in Ypsilanti. Formerly known as the EMU Convocation Center, this 204,316-square-foot facility hosts a mix of EMU sporting events, major concerts, family shows, and campus ceremonies. With versatile seating configurations and a focus on accessibility, the venue is designed to accommodate a range of performances and gatherings while keeping ticket buying straightforward for you.

Whether you’re catching an EMU basketball game, a headline concert with artists like Jay-Z and Ellie Goulding, or a university commencement, we’ve got you covered with practical details on seating, parking, transit, and nearby lodging and dining options to simplify your visit.

Important notes: The venue supports three seating configurations, with basketball seating around 8,800 and center-stage configurations up to approximately 9,500. Parking is available in Convocation Center lots B and C, with a courtesy shuttle from Rynearson Stadium. Accessible parking is available with proper placards. EMU operates campus transit (Trinity) from the EMU Student Center to on-campus venues. Nearby hotels include the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest and the nearby Fairfield Inn across from Eagle Crest. For stays and meals, we recommend our affiliate partners for reliable accommodations and convenient dining near the venue. Date-specific details, including rescheduled dates or TBA announcements, are provided on each event page.
