About Edsel and Eleanor Ford House

Welcome to Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, a historic estate and museum located on the shores of Lake St. Clair in Grosse Pointe Shores, just northeast of Detroit. This private event venue offers versatile spaces for gatherings, tours, and on-site dining within a beautifully preserved face of mid-century elegance. We’ve got you covered with practical details on parking, transportation, accessibility, and nearby lodging and dining so you can plan a seamless visit or event.

Note: Ford House does not currently offer wedding ceremonies or receptions. For planning purposes, we provide a range of private event spaces, guided tours, and seasonal programs perfect for corporate outings, private parties (non-ceremony), and special occasions.

Event spaces and capacities — The Ford House offers several flexible indoor spaces for private events and programs:

  • Lake Shore Room (Indoor): Seated 180; Strolling 230; Theatre 200
  • Jensen & Kahn Room: Seated 80; Strolling 100; Theatre 100; Classroom 70
  • St. Clair Room: Seated 40; Theatre 50

Private events are hosted with a focus on education and celebration in a historic setting.
