About Faliro Olympic Complex
Welcome to the Faliro Olympic Complex, a pivotal sports and events hub located in Neo Faliro, Piraeus, Athens. Home to the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF), the Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena, and the Beach Volleyball Centre, the complex has hosted legendary moments—from the 1987 EuroBasket to the 2004 Olympic volleyball events. Whether you’re planning to catch a championship, a concert, or a family outing, we’ve got you covered with seating details, parking, transit options, and trusted nearby hotels and dining choices.
Note: In 2025–2026, SEF enters a long‑term concession with Olympiacos for operation, while the complex continues to host major events and remain a centerpiece of Athens’ sporting culture.
Seating overview: SEF offers substantial capacity with 11,640 permanent seats for basketball, expandable to 12,300 with court-side additions, and up to 14,776–14,940 when all collapsible seating is in use. The Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena currently seats 3,836 (historic capacity was 8,536 during the 2004 Olympics handball). The Beach Volleyball Centre on site can host up to 9,600 in total, with public seating historically limited to 7,300 for the 2004 Games. For event-specific seating, always verify the current configuration for your date and ticket type.
Parking & transit: On-site parking facilities are included in recent concession discussions, with convenient access for guests. The complex is exceptionally accessible: it sits adjacent to Faliro Metro Station (Line 1) and the SEF tram stop, with multiple city bus routes serving the area.

Venue background: The Faliro Olympic Complex is a cornerstone of Athens’ sports history, having hosted significant events such as the 1987 EuroBasket gold for Greece, the 2004 Olympic volleyball events at SEF, and taekwondo/handball at the Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena. There’s no official renaming or demolition, and the 2025–2026 concession marks a new chapter for SEF under Olympiacos’ operation.
