Seating, Parking & Venue Information

  • Original site: Fenix Underground began at 323 2nd Avenue S (Pioneer Square) following the closure of the Hollywood Underground.
  • First major relocation: In 2003 the Fenix reopened at 109 S Washington St with a multi-room complex (Fenix, Fenix Underground, Fenix Cafe) and about 1,000 capacity.
  • Earthquake impact and revival: After the 2001 Nisqually earthquake, the club was rebuilt and reopened in 2003 at 109 S Washington St (Seattle Post-Intelligencer notes 1,000-capacity).
  • Second relocation and capacity: In 2006 the venue moved into the Premier nightclub space at 1700 1st Ave S, a ~1,750-capacity venue.
  • Bankruptcy and rename: The space was relaunched as Showbox Sodo in 2007 (later Showbox SoDo) under Showbox Presents; capacity is listed around 1,800 for Showbox SoDo.
  • Current status: The Fenix Underground brand effectively ended in 2007; the venue space became part of Showbox SoDo, which operates as Showbox SoDo today.
